Hospitality workers ratify terms of new contract

A new three-year deal has been ratified by the bargaining unit at the Comfort Inn in Windsor. The contract, which members voted on at a meeting held December 3, 2010, includes the following improvements:
- Wages increase for all rates and classifications by 1 per cent retroactive for hours worked since October 31, 2010. Workers receive subsequent across-the-board increases of 2 per cent in year two and 2.5 per cent in year three.
- The deductible for prescription dispensing fees increases to $2 per prescription.
- A new letter of agreement establishes that the company will provide reimbursement of 25 cents per kilometre when an employee is required to use their own vehicle for hotel business.
