New Deal for Maple Leaf Machine and Tool Shop

May 5, 2011 at 3:21pm

A new three-year collective agreement was ratified for Maple Leaf Machine and Tool Shop in Burlington. The majority of the contract remains unchanged from the previous agreement. Wages will increase $0.50 each year in April until 2013. Dental and vision benefits are also increased. Members are given a tool allowance for equipment used on the job. When these become worn or broken, they are able to purchase new tools to effectively and safely complete their tasks. The allowance for this is increased from $400 to $425 this year and again to $450 in 2012.
