Union and company reach tentative deal for Metro workers

March 16, 2012 at 6:26pm

The Metro negotiating committee announced today that, after extending this week’s round of scheduled negotiations by a day, the parties have reached a tentative agreement.

Metro workers will have membership meetings on Sunday, March 25 (times/locations to be announced), at which time they will be provided with details of the deal and be able to cast their vote.

“After a long set of negotiations, the Union negotiating committee is unanimously recommending this agreement to our members,” explains President Shawn Haggerty.

The committee thanks Metro members for their support and strong strike mandate, which allowed them to go back to the bargaining table with the solidarity of everyone standing behind them.
Details of the meetings (times/locations) will be posted to Grocery Workers United website.
