Canadian Forces Support Unit (CFSU) at CFB Ottawa vote yes to new deal

The 70 members of the CFSU bargaining unit ratified a new three-year collective agreement at a meeting held April 12, 2012.
Wages increase by up to 7.25 per cent over the duration of the contract. Workers receive an improved safety footwear allowance of $100 per year (or $200 per every two years) and the tool allowance also increases.
All employees receive 17 weeks sick leave paid at 100%, once past probation. All workers receive three weeks paid vacation after achieving two years’ seniority. Bereavement leave entitlement improves to provide five days’ leave, up from four, for the death of an immediate family member as outlined in the agreement.
