Attention retail workers in Toronto

June 22, 2012 at 7:37pm

The City of Toronto is considering a business-submitted proposal that would force retail workers to work on the current nine Provincial Statutory Holidays.

UFCW Locals 175 & 633 members and all retail workers need these Statutory Holidays to rest and spend much needed time with their families and friends as much as any other worker.

Here is how you and your Union Sisters and Brothers can speak out against the City of Toronto proposal to force retail workers to work on Statutory Holidays:

An online survey has been set up to receive community feedback on retail holiday shopping/working. It only takes a few minutes to fill out:

The City will take down this survey on Statutory Holiday shopping on June 30.

It is important that UFCW members and all workers have the opportunity to raise their objection to this proposal. So please take a moment and visit the online survey. Fill it out and let the City of Toronto know that you object to being forced to work on your well-earned statutory holidays.
