Sofina Foods members ratify
On September 16, 2012, members working at Sofina Foods voted to accept their new collective agreement.
All wages and classifications benefit from wage increases of $1.45 over the term of the agreement, retroactive to June 1, 2012. Material handlers receive an 10 cents an hour on top of the increase while skilled trades people receive an additional $1.50 per hour.
Dental benefits increase to a maximum of $1,750 per year while life insurance coverage – if off due to illness or accident increases to 12 months, up from 6. The company will now contribute $1.15 per hour to each member’s pension over the term of the agreement.
