Three-year contract ratified at G&K Services

The 20 workers at G&K Services in Cambridge ratified a renewed collective agreement on November 14, 2012.
Negotiated improvements in the three-year deal include retroactive wage increase of 35 cents per hour in the first year, and an hourly increase of 35 cents in the second year and 40 cents in the third year for all rates and classifications. In addition, RRSP contributions increase by 5 cents per hour in the third year of the contract term, for a total contribution of $1.40 per hour (weekly max of $56).Vacation entitlement improves to reduce the number of years need to qualify for four weeks paid vacation to 12, down from 14. In bereavement language, grandchildren have been added to the three-day provision.
