Ingredion workers achieve a new contract
The 69 members of the bargaining unit at Ingredion in London have achieved a new collective agreement. The contract, which was ratified on January 25, includes wage increases of 1% in the first year plus a lump sum payment of $1,000; a $1,500 lump sum in year two; and 2.5% in both the third and fourth year.
Vision care coverage improves from $150 to $250 per family member, per 24-month period. Workers will receive reimbursement for company-required doctor’s notes and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) pay maximum increases to $5,000 per month.
Workers benefit from an improved four-hour minimum call-in and four hours’ pay if overtime is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. Employees required to work unscheduled overtime receive twice their regular rate. Those workers scheduled to work on February 29 of a Leap Year receive pay at time and a half for that shift.
Additional language improvements include negotiating committee pay, a new sunset clause, an expanded recognition clause and the addition of aunt and uncle to bereavement entitlement.
