Metro Merivale Ratifies New Collective Agreement
On May 3, 2015 the membership of Metro Merivale in Ottawa ratified a new collective agreement which will include wage increases of $1.65 per hour for full time employees and $1.50 per hour for part time employees over the term of the agreement.
Negotiated improvements to Health and Welfare include the introduction of a drug card, increase in short term disability coverage, increased extended health care coverage, the addition of spouse/child to life insurance, and new orthotics coverage. Additionally after 10 years employees will receive 4 weeks vacation at 8% for full and part-time employees.
Significant new language has been added regarding the duty to accommodate, no discrimination/no harassment/no bullying and progressive discipline language.
