Quinte Humane Society ratifies first collective agreement
At a meeting held on May 7, 2015 the bargaining unit members employed at the Quinte Humane Society in Belleville ratified their first agreement. The 3 year deal includes language for hours of work and overtime, a grievance and arbitration procedure, health and safety, union security and bereavement.
In the first year of the term SPCA Agents will receive an increase of 70 cents and kennel attendants will receive 50 cents. Both classification will receive 25 cents in years 2 & 3.
Full time bargaining unit members will receive an additional sick day each year and those with 10 years of service will now have four weeks of vacation entitlement.
