Twenty members at Executive Aviation ratify 3-year contract

November 8, 2017 at 12:19pm

Negotiations for Union members at Executive Aviation in Sudbury took place over a number of months.

After the employer’s counsel walked out of talks in July, the parties met in conciliation to arrive at the agreement, which the membership ratified on November 1, 2017.

The three-year contract includes an immediate increase of 80 cents per hour for all but red-circled employees. In addition, the employer will pay a lump sum of between $400 and $500 to all employees following ratification. Subsequent annual increases provide a gap of 45 cents ahead of minimum wage.  Members also benefit from an improved safety shoe allowance of $75 per year, up from $50.

Improved language helps employees avoid split shifts and Members receive two new paid sick days per year. Finally, the employer will pay 50% of the premiums for a new health benefit plan. The employer will contribute $100 to the UFCW Local 175 Education & Training Fund each year as well.
