Certain diseases are prevalent into today's global society. SARS, West Nile, Avian Flu, Hepatitis and others can affect our health and quality of life.

There are many methods through which these diseases can be transmitted and that means that each of us must arm ourselves with knowledge. We must take steps to prevent the occurrence and transmission of these diseases and be familiar with the symptoms.

Stress, asthma, back pain, arthritis, depression and many others can worsen due to work or personal reasons and also cause problems at work.

In addition, there are hazards that you need to be aware of when performing even the simplest tasks at work - such as lifting, prolonged standing, poor lighting and excessive noise.

Protect yourself, your family and friends. Inform yourself. For detailed information on these and other subjects please visit the Health Canada Web site or the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS).
