Committee
The
UFCW Locals 175 & 633 Youth Committee was founded
in the fall of 1999. The Youth Committee includes various
members from across Ontario under the age of 30; although
all members are encouraged to become involved.
The
committee meets on a regular basis to discuss various
issues focusing on Youth. The enthusiasm the committee
generates provides fresh
and innovative ideas to help educate Youth about unions.
Unions are not just for people with lifetime careers -
unions are for everyone, especially Youth in the workforce. |

CONTEST RULES:
The logo must contain or incorporate the current UFCW Locals 175 & 633 logo as seen in the top left corner of this Web site as well as the word “youth.”
You may submit as many designs by any of the following mediums, digital or hand drawn/sketched. Please note that the logo may be re-created and or colorized to output higher graphic quality if it is chosen the winner.
The following file types will be accepted: JPG, GIF, PSD, PNG, INDD, EPS, PDF, AI & TIF.
To obtain a copy of the current UFCW Locals 175 & 633 logo (as it must be incorporated in your design) please e-mail a request to: youth@ufcw175.com.

All submissions must be received by Thursday, May 1st, 2008.

The goals of the Youth Committee are to:
- Increase membership participation among young workers
within the Local;
- Provide a better understanding of Local structure, functions,
programs and available services;
- Create links with youth and labour movements provincially,
nationally and globally;
- Educate and organize young workers everywhere.
- Talk to young people about becoming active in their
union.
- Give Youth a voice in the Local's Executive Board.
- Discuss
activism, your rights, progress and the role of Youth
in the labour movement.
