For more than 15 years, Locals 175 & 633 have provided more training opportunities for our members and their families than any other Local Union.
Over the years, we have offered basic and advanced computers, English as a Second Language, and high school courses. We continue to offer CPR and First Aid training, Computers (by request; where enough interest can be demonstrated), Weeklong paid training for Members, Stewards and Health & Safety committee members.
In addition, Stewards training is offered annually each fall at 6 locations.
In the spring of 2014 we are launching a new series of courses on health and wellness. Watch for flyers and more information here on our website.

Each spring we take applications for the Solidarity Scholarships where members and their children who are attending post-secondary schools are eligible to apply for a $1000 scholarship.
Eighty-eight (88) of these are drawn from areas across the province. The application form is available April 1st to August 1st each year and the only criteria to enter is that you must be an active member in good standing with the Local Union. No test, or essay, just enter online and your name goes into the draw.
Every year, $88,000 is put back into the pockets of our members and their children because we believe in the value of education for our future generations.
