Members from Fairvern Nursing Home in Huntsville held a charity BBQ on August 17, 2012 outside Metro #193 to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) of Canada. [PHOTOS]Estelle Frank, Kelly Haggart, Pam Brown and Joyce Vicaire, all members from Fairvern, were the driving force behind this year’s BBQ. Sister Haggart even cut her hair to support the cause. She generously donated 21 inches of her hair to go toward making a wig for someone receiving cancer treatment.

Just three dollars bought a pop and hotdog and for just two dollars more, supporters received tickets to win one of the draw prizes for the day. This year’s prize table was valued at $1500.

Special thanks goes to the members and staff at Metro #193. That store supplied the event with food and drinks, and many members came out and supported the event by buying a hotdog, drink and a chance at one of the many prizes.
