Two-year agreement ratified by HOPE Sector members at Legion Village
The more than 40 members of Local 175’s Health, Office & Professional Employees (HOPE) Sector working at Legion Village in Cobourg achieved a new collective agreement.
The two-year contract, ratified on May 9, 2016, includes wage increases of 2 per cent for all classifications in year one, retroactive for hours worked since April 1, and another 2 per cent in the second year.
Part-time paid sick days increase to four per year, up from 3.5, and vacation entitlement for full-time employees improves to provide seven weeks at 14% after 30 years of service with the employer.
Additional language provides an increase to the uniform allowance of $10, and paid meals for those working double shifts.
