Aramark workers at Seneca College ratify
On February 23, 2017, members of UFCW Local 175 employed by Aramark at Seneca College secured a new collective agreement.
The full and part-time employees receive increases of 3.7% in year one, 3 per cent in year two, and 2.85% in year three. Full-time workers receive a signing bonus of $55 and part-time workers receive $25.
Members benefit from a reduced payment portion for their health and dental benefits, 30% down from 33%, and one sick days has been added bringing the total paid sick days to six per year.
The shoe allowance improves to $50 per year, up from $35, and the company will contribute $400 toward the Locals 175 & 633 Education & Training Fund, up from the previous $250.
Language improvements address qualifying for statutory holiday pay and call-in times when taking a sick day.
