Janet Lynn Blanchard has retired from Zehrs at the Pen Centre in St. Catharines. Janet worked for nearly 30 years with the company. She is looking forward to spending time with her family and says she may even work part-time in the future.
Wil Coupland retired from Horizon Plastics in Cobourg at the end of January after 37 years of service. Will started as an Operator and eventually was awarded an apprenticeship position and became a Millwright. Wil plans to enjoy his retirement with his girlfriend and their 2 dogs. After the years of factory shift work he is very much enjoying being on his own schedule.
Yves Gagnon worked for the Municipality of East Ferris (Parks and Rec) and has been a member of Local 175 since 1991. After 21 years of service, Yves can finally enjoy retirement. Yves has decided to get a job driving school bus in order to keep busy. He is enjoying his retirement and looks forward to spending time with his loved ones.
Janet Harris has retired from Metro in Oshawa. Janet started at Miracle Food Mart in 1975 as a cashier. Janet changed stores and started working for A&P which is now known as Metro. Janet has worked for 43 years and decided it was time to say good-bye to her job but not her friends that she made over the years.
Since 1998 Darlene McNeil has been an employee of Zehrs, but has now decided to retire. Darlene worked at various store in Barrie (Young St., Big Bay Point, Essa Rd.) and is retiring from the Duckworth location. Darlene wants to travel, garden and spend time with her husband, children and grandchildren in her retirement.
Johanna Richards has retired from Burnbrae Farms after 41 years of service.
Dale Simon, former Local 175 Executive Board Vice President, recently retired from Canada Malting in Thunder Bay.
