National Aboriginal Day
June 21, 2017
On June 21 we celebrate National Aboriginal Day. The date corresponds to the summer solstice, a time of year when many indigenous groups have celebrated. It is an opportunity for First Nations, Métis and Inuit people to display their cultures and achievements throughout Canada.
This year as we mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation, National Aboriginal Day will also mark the start of “Celebrate Canada” which ends on Canada Day (July 1).
