UFCW Locals 175 & 633 Solidarity Scholarship

Solidarity Scholarship application window open April 1 - August 1

McKay, Thompson, Hoebink, Gibson, Williamson, Kensit, Lachance,  Hoffman, Labelle, and Northern Joint Council Technology Scholarship

Each year, the Local Union gives out 88 Solidarity Scholarships. The scholarships are $1,000 each. Members and their children/dependents studying full-time at a post-secondary institution are eligible.

The application window for 2023 is now closed.

Please note that only winners will be notified and will be required to provide proof that they are registered and attending in the current school year. The Training & Education Committee will notify the winners by email and a list will be published to the website.

The BDM (William J. Beggs, Fred Dowling, Romeo Mathieu) Scholarship
Deadline: September 30

Each year the National Council offers eighteen $1,000 BDM scholarships to UFCW members and their family members attending a post-secondary institution.

UFCW Charity Foundation 2023 Scholarship Program

In 2023 the UFCW Charity Foundation will award several SCHOLARSHIPS, up to $8,000 each, to UFCW members or their unmarried dependents under the age of 20.

Outstanding Member Achievement Award

2023 Nomination Window: August 1 - November 1

Nominate a Member of UFCW Locals 175 & 633 for an Outstanding Member Achievement AwardLocals 175 & 633 offer four annual awards (one per category) of $500 each to members who:

  1. Demonstrate outstanding contributions to the community;

  2. Manifest leadership and advancement of the UFCW;

  3. Dedicate themselves to fundraising for Leukemia research, or;

  4. Enhance & achieve improvements in health & safety (including WSIB) for their workplace.

You can nominate yourself, a co-worker or a family member that belongs to our Local Union. Nominees MUST be a member in good standing of either Local 175 or Local 633 for at least six consecutive months.
